Headteacher's Welcome
It has been a privilege to be Headteacher of Sulivan Primary School since 2009. As you get to know me, you will quickly learn that I am passionate about providing children the childhood and education they have a right to enjoy. By feeling safe, confident and motivated to learn, children have the opportunity to be their best, develop their character and be a part of many experiences that are full of awe and wonder and ignite a love for learning.
We are a happy, friendly school, knowing that children succeed when they are calm and ready to learn. Our pupils love to learn and our teachers are committed to ensuring children achieve their best and enjoy being part of our community.
Early years and primary education lasts a lifetime and the experience we give our youngest learners is critical to their academic and character development. We have designed our learning at Sulivan to be challenging, engaging and purposeful. We offer a broad, enriched curriculum that motivates our children to enjoy a wide range of extra-curricular activities in sport, music and much more. Our spacious green environment, nature area and growing garden offers unique opportunities to our children. The importance of having access to nature is the foundation of our Garden School and outdoor learning programme.
I believe in providing education that provides the knowledge and skills children require to be confident and competent learners. Alongside academic achievement, children must acquire the values and personal skills that makes them confident speakers, thinkers, problem solvers, collaborators and innovators. That is why I place wellbeing and personal, emotional, social development equally alongside academic achievement.
At Sulivan, we set our aspirations high and know that primary education is the launch pad for children’s futures. Sulivan is special. I know you will feel it too when you visit us, which I hope you do. I promise you a very warm welcome.
